I’ve been scouring the Amazon / Barnes and Noble / New York Times bestsellers lists for a work project. I was surprised how many books there are on the subject of the Science of Attraction – or Birds of a Feather – or Like Attracts Like. Not necessarily the attraction of PEOPLE (although I guess that’s part of it), but the attraction of like thoughts.

I haven’t read any of these books, and honestly, I didn’t know that there was any kind of body of work documenting this “field”. I do, however, believe in the idea of like thoughts attracting like. I believe that thoughts manifest as words, and words as actions. One of the book descriptions mentioned vibrations – good vibrations as well as bad – that every thought or action gives off, and I remembered this post, which happens to be one of my favorite posts because I feel like I was actually able to WRITE exactly what I was feeling (for once).

It’s been a while since I felt the chord strike. Although I know I can’t force it, or even coax it, as soon as I’m done posting this, I’m going to dig out Tupelo Honey. It can’t hurt.

No, it can’t hurt! That’s a great post — and Michele thought so too! She has such fine taste.

I read something recently where the author mentioned music as his/her antidepressant. It’s mine too… along with exercise.

Time to put some Van Morrison on the Zen! Thanks for the reminder…

I had a cousin commit suicide a few months back. The funeral was probably the most painful and difficult of all those attended last year (and there were several). Toward the end of the service the minister said it was important to the family that a special song be played for Sue while we just sit and reflect on her life, and then he pushed play on the recorder and the strains of Tupelo Honey began… So the song has some pretty deep meaning for me now. It is nice to read something lighter to associate with it here. I’ll picture your field now. Thank you.
