Things that make you go, “Huh.” I wasn’t aware you were into Agatha Christie OR Willie Nelson.
Comment by Kacey October 2, 2006 @ 2:07 pmHey did you find a fantastic new coffe maker? I don’t think I ever read Agatha Christie but it is so cool to find “lost” treasures when you move! Have to say thought you were going to end your list with something else…
Comment by Heather October 3, 2006 @ 1:21 amYou know, I’m not a HUGE Agatha fan, but I read that book in Jr. High, and have forgotten about it and “found” it again several times throughout the years. I like it because it’s a collection of short stories, which I love, and I like the 2 recurring characters.
And I’ve just been on a Willie Nelson kick lately. Classic country in general. Strange.
And Heather – sadly, I haven’t found a new coffee maker yet. I DO, however, live fairly close to a Dunkin Donuts, so some mornings, when I REALLY want a treat, I’ll go there. Most of the time it’s just instant coffee though.
Comment by Elle October 3, 2006 @ 6:34 amThings that make me happy:
1. Committing random acts of kindness. Doing for others selfishly feels oh so good.
2. The smell of the country. Not the country with manure. The country with fields and wildflowers and babbling brooks.
3. Song lyrics that make so much damn sense I have to nod my head when I think of them. Like John Denver’s lyrics from Thank God I’m a Country Boy: “Life ain’t nuthin’ but a funny funny riddle.”
4. Ice cold bottles of Ice Mountain water.
5. Fresh strawberries dipped in cool whip.
6. The sound of laughter.
7. Happy people.
8. Calvin and Hobbes.
9. Blogging. What a fabulous world of writing I live in.
10. Life. I’m sure death will suit me fine once I get there but I sure am having a blast being alive.
As always Elle…thanks for being such an inspiration. People like YOU make me happy!
