  • Out of the absolute blue, a job opportunity presented itself. I haven’t been looking for a job, but I felt like I would do myself a disservice if I didn’t at least interview for the position. Even though I interview job candidates as part of my current job, I haven’t been on a true job interview (other than for internal promotions) myself for almost 18 years. What a balls up THAT was.
  • And because overanalyzing and agonizing over EVERY SINGLE pro and con of changing jobs after close to twenty years isn’t quite stressful enough for me, I went to an event this weekend and backed my car into another car in the parking lot. Not JUST another car in the parking lot…the NEWEST car in the parking lot. When the woman finally returned to her car after the event and opened her door to get the insurance info out of her glove compartment, I saw that she still had the dealer paper floor mats on the floor. Paper Floor Mats, People!

Egads.

Hope your balls have descended. Wow 20 years! Yikes about the car-these insidents suck-I would have left a note-how long did you wait???

Incidents-I hate when I misspell but that one I know-goodness.

Crap! As they say — that’s what insurance is for.

I’m in the same boat, Elle. I’ve been with the same company for almost 20 years & am now sending resumes out. It’s a wake-up call!!

OK, not quite the same boat. You’re doing it by choice. I have to because my position is going away!

Heather – I hit the car as I was going to a wedding, and I found out it was the photog’s car, so I sat through the ceremony AND the pictures (since I obviously didn’t want to upset the photographer during the most important time. :o ) ). Luckily, some friends stayed with me in the parking lot.

Marie – I have been v. lucky regarding jobs. I’ve never had the stress of HAVING to look for a job. For that, I’m EXTREMELY grateful. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’ll land an absolutely perfect job.

Oh NO! You missed the ceremony on top of it-that stinks! Good Luck with the job opportunity-sounds intriguing. :o )

Comment by Heather

You didn’t miss the ceremony, did you? You waited to approach the photographer until after the ceremony, right?? So … how WAS that wedding? And, more importantly, how was the meeting regarding that job?

Comment by Kacey

oh yeah yeah…sorry for the confusion. I didn’t miss the ceremony. I sat through it, then went back outside to wait until after the pictures were done. Good times.

The wedding was nice. And went off without a hitch. Other than someone backing into the photographer’s car in the parking lot.

The job saga continues. As always, nothing is cut and dried. I’ll know more tomorrow.

Oh, the confusions all mine. I shoulda had a V8.

I never thought it was possible to love you more than I already do. Then you said “balls up” and I realized more love is possible.
