Arachnophobe on Board

Yesterday I was driving along, minding my own business, when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. I knew immediately it wasn’t something outside the car. No. It was closer than that. At first I thought it was a yellow jacket, since I’ve had several of them in my car this summer. That’s always enough to give me a start, but no.

Even worse than a yellow jacket.

A spider.

It was just a little spider. Tiny by spider standards, I guess. But it was still a spider, and still walking back and forth on my rear view mirror, and still had the capability of jumping on me and sucking my life force out of my body. So I had to kill it. I mean, my safety was at risk…I couldn’t safely drive while keeping tabs on the spider’s whereabouts.

So I after I squashed it with the receipt for my new bed, I continued driving on. Feeling bad about the spider, but safer somehow. All attention and thought back on the road. Except for the thought that suddenly occured to me:

What if it wasn’t an adult tiny spider? What if it was actually a baby BIG spider? What if it just hatched from a nest SOMEWHERE INSIDE MY CAR????? What if there are more of them, just hanging out, getting bigger, just waiting for the opportunity to crawl up and say hi as I’m breezing down the interstate?

I’ve got me the shivers just thinking about it.

Really, it’s okay. If you get bitten, you get spider powers. I saw that in a biographical thingy on TV called Spiderman. It’s true, just like that ABC 9/11 documentary.

LOL-I am so glad you’re back. So guessing you won’t be renting “Arachnophobia” this weekend…
